Tonight Courtney, Matt, and myself met at Jeff and Christina’s house for a delicious dinner and to edit the OWIP book. It’s going to be awesome! After looking through many magazines and flagging a ton of pages, we narrowed the cover of the book down to one particular idea. Ideas started flying after that! I think it will be fabulous and can’t wait to see what comes from doodles, stars, and arrows on the back of a piece of paper. Of course, this messy table wouldn’t be complete with out the always delicious M&M cookies and super cool Darth Vader napkins. I always love getting to watch an idea turn into something bigger. Sometimes its hard to know where to start and where to go with it but I was reminded today to look around for ideas and inspiration and the possibilities for your creation are endless.

Now that I’m an official blogger, I’m gonna go search other blogs to see what other people do. This will be exciting and interesting and I’m pumped to get to share my new experiences with everyone

For those of you who missed here is a little video clip of the night!

The OWIP kids have been working hard on this terrific exhibit and are very excited to show off their beautiful artwork! The show, entitled “Peace Through Perspective” consists of about 50 matted photographs taken by the kids from all three workshops. Food, drinks, music and fun will also be provided.

If you scare easily, turn back! Halloween at Kid’s Cafe this year was quite a fright!

This week’s assignment for the kid’s was just that to take a Self-Portrait, to capture oneself  in a photograph. The photograph, whether it be telling or mysterious, was to form an expressioin of the kids’ individual styles, personalities, and interests.

Janae found her expression through photographing her hands and friends. Two things very telling about Janae. She always has hugs to give and a smile that lights up the world. Her hands she says “can do several things” and her friends mean a lot to her. It was amazing how she conveyed her love of people and her true kind self in her images.

Seeing the neighborhood through the eyes of the kids was very cool. As humans we can only take in so much at a time but looking at these photographs helps us realize that there is so much more to the world around us. Plus, the kids had a blast! Stay tuned for pics from the next adventure!
